Peace Joy Clinic (PJC) Direct Primary Care (DPC) focuses on getting to the root of your problems rather than just fixing the symptoms with drugs, while treating your "whole-being" in a holistic approach. We offer safe yet effective weight loss (our strongest forte), diabetic prevention, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring/treatment, narrowing down the diagnosis for your "mysterious" conglomeration of symptoms, personalized counseling against anxiety and depression, individualized stress management, wellness program, life-coaching program on how to live a victorious life, and much more.

There is NO surprise medical bills from our clinic EVER! Prices "à la carte" and transparent. What most people don't know is that one visit to urgent care may cost you an entire year’s membership in our clinic ($225 enrollment fee once + flat fee $75/month)! Enhanced availability with convenient same day or next business day appointments, no more waiting 2-3 weeks/months just to see your primary care doctor for a sickness or a simple question. Our patient-panel size is 1/3 to 1/5 of traditional clinics to ensure availability and attentiveness.
Prolonged appointments 30 minutes up to 1 hour appt with the doctor herself (not 5 to 7 minutes doctor-time like most clinics); if the issue is complex, this time can be extended per patient's request. (4) Second Opinion consultation for individuals who wish to keep their current primary care physician, but would like to have a fresher set of eyes on their medical syndromes, or to have a more detailed and un-rushed explanations of things that their current medical doctors didn't have time to go over with them. (5) One-time Visit for medical consultation for individuals who wish to keep their current primary care physician, but need one time visit for something subacute medically

Prevention: Regular doctor visits while you are healthy is to ensure you will continue to be healthy in the long run, and to improve your quality of life more than you would otherwise without professional help. Most Americans are afflicted with at least one chronic condition as they grow older — conditions which would have been completely preventable with the help of individualized care from a personal primary care doctor. There are diseases that normal people don't think about that only an experienced doctor would know and diagnose it early for you by looking at your vague conglomerations of symptoms.

Compassion: We validate our patients’ sufferings and empathize with them. We do NOT dismiss our patients’ concerns; we take them seriously. However, we do NOT hold our patients by the hands or spoon fed them! Most importantly, we never force our patients to do things they don’t want to. Instead, we lovingly and respectfully tell our patients the truths--even if it’s the bitter truths--so that they can see the roots of the problem and the causes of their sufferings. We educate our patients about numerous different treatment options, then give them the authority to navigate their care--under the meticulous & expertise guidance of our physicians.

Advocacy: We help our patients navigate the maze of the confusing healthcare system and its complicated terminologies/jargons. We fought on our patients’ behalf for cash prices of labs, imaging/Xrays, and prescriptions.

Service: We listen to our patients, NOT just "hearing" them. We try our best to be available, flexible to patients’ needs, while being prompt at the same time. Once a SUBSCRIBED member at Peace Joy Clinic, if you have a busy schedule, let us know, and we’ll get you in and out (either face-to-face in office or via video/phone virtual-visits during your breaks at work). You won't be rushed like cattle, because our physicians actually enjoy spending time with you--and are allowed to--averaging 30 minutes at least, sometimes up to 1 hour if required.

Does Peace Joy Clinic take private insurance?

DPC (direct primary care) is NOT about “we don’t take any insurance”, rather it’s about very affordable monthly membership ($75/month after enrollment fee $225) paid directly from patient to the doctor for unlimited visits during office hours. We are NOT insurance company either. DPC eliminates the need for deductibles, copays, and complicated insurance billing; and by removing administrative burdens, we can dedicate more time and attention directly to our patients instead to help them get healthier. We do use your private insurance to order medications, labs, and referrals but most patients elected our cash-price labs orders, which is cheaper than with using insurance—usually 1/10 or less of the regular lab pricing. Hope this help clarify things up for some. The only thing you can't use your insurance for here is our deeply discounted clinic fees. If you can afford a cup of coffee a day, you can afford our clinic's fees, it's that simple.

To reemphasize, you can use your insurance for EVERYTHING EXCEPT our low monthly membership fee and one-time enrollment fee, which pay for incredible access to excellent care and availability, doctor's personal cellphone # during office hours, and fast appointments!

People who don’t like avant-garde changes will miss out on a "DPC" movement by ingenious doctors trying to lower the escalating healthcare cost in America! They are missing out on our little "life boat" (clinic analogy), and once our boat “filled up” (very small # spots), we won’t take anymore patients—so if they need our help preventing “drowning” in high medical bills leading to financial ruins and preventing health crisis due to delayed access to care (the mess the current health system will put them in, like many patients told us of their horrible past experiences), we won’t be able to help them because our patient-panel-size is very limited.

Our office and our providers WON'T file any paperwork with any insurance company, and will NOT waste time dealing with insurance companies and their bureaucracy--We want to focus on taking care of and spending time with our patients instead. If patients want extra money, they themselves could apply for reimbursements from their private insurance company (NOT applicable to Medicare/Medicaid/Soonercare) for what they directly paid to us (PPO usually does, but HMO unlikely so; to learn how click here)

Some people wanted to sign up with our clinic but the moment we mention we will NOT do insurance claims they are reluctant, but let's do some simple math, shall we? You are paying $1,000+ a month for insurance with a $1,500 deductible, so you can pay a doctor $100/visit for primary care to have only 5 minutes or less with him/her? An older and wiser doctor told me less than 10% of folks meet their deductible in a year, so paying us $75/month x 12 months = $900 for unlimited # visits is still below the deductible. A busy mom said "as a patient myself, I'd pay a small extra fee so my time would NOT be wasted (in the waiting room or on the phone for hours to leave a message for my doctor or being passed around by admin/front desk, without an answer) followed by surprise bills because insurance denied claims, followed by unresolved whatever health issue I have because doctor only spent 5 minutes or less with me. I'd chose quality time & good health any day because you can't buy back these once they are gone!"

In summary, PJC charges either monthly subscription fees or pay-per-visit fees. We strongly recommend you maintain your insurance in case you need expensive medications, radiologies(X-ray, CTs, MRIs...), specialized/expensive labs, procedures/surgeries, specialists' involvement, ER/UCC visits, hospitalizations, etc. It's great that you have insurance, we just don't bill it. Keep your insurance for the big/bad and ugly such as emergencies, but don't use it for your everyday medical care/needs because we can keep costs much lower ☺️! You can still use insurance to pay for labs, meds, imaging, referral to GYN, and other specialists—basically the things we don't do in our office.

At PJC, we treat the patient as a whole and not just the disease. We focus mainly on improving quality of life as well as figuring out the root cause of your illness or suffering. We do not mask pain and illness with pain medications, sedatives, suppressants, or stimulants.
With our small patient panel being 1/3 or even 1/5 the size of other clinics, the interaction between you and your physician is more intimate and you will not be just another chart or illness to be bandaged. We strive to get to know our patients at a more personal level so we can provide individualized care. Every individual is uniquely different and your treatment plan should be uniquely tailored to you!
With our small patient panel, finding an appointment the same day or next day will no longer be an impossibility. Often times, typical clinics will "fit you in" which means you will sit in a room for hours waiting for the doctor to possibly find a few moments to speak to you; their doctor will be rushed to listen to you and try to figure out what is wrong; you are rushed, they are rushed; this ultimately results in frustrations and low satisfaction. At PJC, our small panel and lower volume of appointment slots per day means we can fit you into 30 minute slots or even 1 hour slots if needed.
At PJC, we are not pressured by businessmen to push numbers, to see more patients, to generate more revenue, or to meet quotas. The clinic's revenue is already determined by your monthly subscription so there are no quotas to meet, no pressure to do unneeded studies to generate more money, and no hidden fees.

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC) ?

DPC is an effort by many talented physicians on behalf of patients to take back control of healthcare, to get rid of those that put themselves in between doctors & patients (such as businessmen, administrators, insurance companies, answering services/machines, triage personnels, coders, billers, etc). Doctors and patients are both tired of having to deal with all of these middlemen, and DPC helps to eliminate all of that. At PJC, we strive to offer the most personal one-on-one care.

Once enrolled as a SUBSCRIBED member by paying a flat monthly fee, when you call or text during office hours, you will reach YOUR PERSONAL DOCTOR DIRECTLY, not anyone else!

DPC's advantage is PREVENTION of: delayed medical-care and frustrations from talking to answering services or machines who are not medically trained or who don't know you personally or medically.
